1918 The Year of Victory – The Western Front

Wayne is a former Royal Australian Armoured Corps Army Reserve Officer with 46 years service. He served 10 years with 10th Light Horse, and 36 years with the Australian Army Museum of WA (Australian Army History Unit).

For 24 years he was the military history broadcaster for the ABC TV coverage of the Perth ANZAC Day parade, 1995 to 2019. He is a Fellow of the Military Historical Society of Australia.

In 2006, he was awarded the Deputy Chief of Army Commendation when Curator of the Australian Army Museum of WA. In 2015, he was awarded the RSL’s ANZAC of the Year for WA award. And in 2017, he received the Medal of the Order of Australia “For services to Australian military history, to veterans and families of deceased veterans”.

His civilian career, for some 40 years, was as an auctioneer and valuer of antiques and collector’s items and a Commonwealth Government Valuer (specialising in Militaria).
