BINS4Blokes Promotion: Campaigning for hygiene bins for men in public toilets throughout Australia.
City Rotary supported the launch of the BINS4Blokes national awareness campaign to advocate for the installation in public toilets of hygiene bins for men experiencing incontinence. Initiated by a City Rotary member with a doctorate in physiotherapy specialising in men’s health, the campaign was launched in collaboration with Continence Health Australia.

Our successes
- Successfully petitioned and lobbied Federal Government, resulting in commitment to provide men’s hygiene bins in all Federal Government buildings.
- Pledges from City Rotarians and a broad section of the Rotary community to install hygiene bins for men, including shopping centres, hospitality groups, Men’s Sheds, and healthcare facilities.
- Official launch of the BINS4Blokes national campaign at the WACA ground in 2021 (and highlighted on the iconic WACA scoreboard), and the WACA becoming the first stadium in Australia to install men’s hygiene bins.

Bins4blokes is a Continence Health Australia national awareness and advocacy campaign promoting the installation of incontinence product disposal bins in male public toilets. Currently, one in three adults in Australia experience either bladder or bowel incontinence, representing more than six million people. Most (99%) of all men undergoing surgical treatment for prostate cancer can expect to experience incontinence for some time after surgery. Yet, at the start of the campaign, many public toilets for men did not provide hygiene bins.
