Luminos Art Project supporting at-risk youth
City Rotary partnered with Samaritans WA to run an art competition for students in years 10, 11 or 12 in support of the Luminos Project, a short-stay residential service run by Samaritans WA for young people experiencing suicidal thoughts.
Entrants from registered schools were invited to create a piece of art on a supplied canvas on the theme of “Hope”. The response was heartfelt and uplifting, with a diverse range of styles and interpretations that reflected both personal insight and compassion.
The artworks were displayed at the Luminos Art Exhibition on 2 July 2025. The artworks served a dual purpose: selected pieces were donated to the Luminos Project House to bring warmth, colour, and inspiration to the living spaces. The remaining pieces were sold by silent auction, with proceeds going to Samaritans WA.
City Rotary was proud to host this event and deeply grateful to all the student artists, teachers, families, and supporters who helped make it a success. Through creativity and collaboration, we are helping to foster hope and healing for vulnerable young people in our community.
