Meet Devery: Our exchange Student

Devery Swartzentruber is a 17-year-old high school graduate from the northern suburbs of Perth. She is incredibly grateful to be sponsored by the Perth City East Rotary Club to participate in the Rotary Youth Exchange program in Taiwan in 2026, where she will have the opportunity to immerse herself in Taiwanese culture, learn Mandarin, and build global connections. Having studied ATAR Japanese as a second language and international relations through ATAR Modern History in Years 11 and 12, she has developed a strong interest in languages, cultures, and global affairs. Through this exchange, she hopes to grow in her independence, as well as her knowledge and understanding of a completely different culture and language, while proudly representing Australia and the Perth City East Rotary Club abroad.
